El Paso HS Sports
| PUSH as Rx El Paso HS Sports. Young athletes long to be just like the sports stars on television. El Paso, TX. Chiropractor Dr. Alex Jimenez presents local high school sports stories that will inspire and educate others, as well as, young aspiring players. What child doesn’t dream to dunk or make the winning kick, goal, touchdown, etc… Recently children and adolescents have begun to train like the pros. This presents a problem, as children participating in various sports are developing injuries at a much higher rate than before.
Most of these injuries come from repetition and overuse called Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI). What is happening is these kids are playing the same sport all year round. Before it, a child would play one sport in summer, and a different one in the winter. Today children are specializing in one sport in the hopes of getting a competitive edge. A sports chiropractor is trained to treat RSIs in all age groups and can provide education on proper form, training, nutrition, and rest/recovery in order to achieve a balanced lifestyle. Depending on the injury a chiropractor may request ultrasound, x-rays, electric stimulation. A chiropractor can help improve performance on and off the field by helping their bodies to function at an optimum level. |
